FAQ

Questions, answered

How does Qiraya check my recitation?

When you recite in the app, your voice is streamed securely through Qiraya's server to a speech-recognition service and transcribed in real time. Qiraya compares each word with the Uthmani text and marks it right, different or skipped, then gives you a score and the words to review. It checks the words you say; it does not grade tajweed rules or vowel marks.

Is my voice recorded?

No. The microphone is only on while you recite, and the audio is never stored. Qiraya keeps your score and the words to review so you can practice them again.

Is Qiraya free?

Reading, listening, translations and bookmarks are free. Recitation feedback includes 5 free checks a day. Qiraya Pro unlocks unlimited recitation checks and your full practice history. On the web it costs $4.99 a week or $59.99 a year; in the app, the App Store or Google Play shows the price in your currency.

Where do the Quran text and recitations come from?

The text is the Tanzil Uthmani edition, served by alquran.cloud, with 12 translations such as Saheeh International. Verse-by-verse recitations come from everyayah.com. Qiraya never alters the text.

Can I use Qiraya on the web?

Yes. Read all 114 surahs, switch translations, listen verse by verse and keep your bookmarks in sync with your account. Live recitation feedback is in the Qiraya app.

Which devices does Qiraya support?

The app is available for Android on Google Play, and the iPhone app is coming soon to the App Store. The web reader works in any modern browser.

How do I delete my account?

Delete it from Settings on the web or Profile in the app. Deletion is immediate and removes your bookmarks, reading positions and practice results. The Support page explains what is kept for subscriptions.
